Every Smile is Beautiful

Sophie Fortier 2013
Day 35
There wasn't a smile I've seen that wasn't beautiful. As most of you know, I had a shoot with one of my best friends, Natasha Riley and as usual, we had a blast. Behind every one of these images was a string of laughs jokes and a hell of a good time. We also made some new friends, Max and Flash, some dogs that came along to investigate my gear and my lovely model. A labradoodle(Max) and a beagle (Flash) were oh-so-eager to get treats from their owners and like our hands. Above all, we had fun and Smile laugh and have fun with those you love. We certainly did. I hope you enjoy these images as much as we did taking them.

Day 34
3 days ago, it was my father's birthday. 2 days ago, it was my brother's birthday, so we celebrated both on June 9th. It seems as though everyone turned up for the event. Both of my brothers and their girlfriends came over as well as my own boyfriend. My grandfather also came around and we had some good food. Now our patio table only sits 6, seven if you squeeze and we were nine. So me and Nick were banished to the "kids table" which consisted of using the chairs and side tables from our patio set. Because of this, everyone else laughed at us through most of the diner. We got my dad a GoPro camera and he was very happy with it and is currently looking p accessories on eBay. My brother's girlfriend  Emily, just finished nursing school and had has her pinning ceremony a day before, so my mother got her a little something for her hard work. My mother is a nurse at the NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit) at CHEO and felt as though she needed to give emily something for her trouble, after all she went through the same thing when she was in school. And lastly, my brother Eric, got a hand that screws in the wall to hold up his guitar and a voucher to get a new bicycle  Desert was amazing, a cake my mother had made from scratch right out of the hershey's cookbook. Sinfully delicious. So to all of you out there, eat that piece of cake and get the shoes... life is short.

Pen Drawings

Over some down time at work, I;ve found myself drawing agai. Only this time, my only tool was a pen. So for the first time, I drew with a pen and I have to say, I am pretty damn proud of it.

Day 32
I've been with my boyfriend for about two and a half years and never thought about exploring his grandparents' barn. They own a hobby farm (although the barn is used more for storage nowadays) and I never even thought of looking through it all and capturing the memories that are stored there. So yesterday, I spent the better part of my morning photographing various subjects in a dusty barn. Personally, I found it fascinating to walk through the building looking at every object and pose it to my liking to create an image. The sound of raindrops pounding on the tin roof and the smell of wet wood and fresh grass put me at ease. Although I don't know the stories behind the items and what they represent, I can definitely imagine my own. Through these images, I invite you to think of your own stories and let your imagination go wild!
